so...the last Harry Potter book...

Posted by Rammer - August 6th, 2007

well, just a week or two before the last book came out, i started reading the entire series again, from beginning to finish. i just finished the 6th book, and now...i'm very hesitant to read the last. this series has been around for most (or at least, a lot) of my life, and it's a bit of a shame to have the last book right next to me, ready to read. if i am not mistaken, the first book came out in 1998, which means i was 7 years old. i'm now 16 (4 months and 20 days away from my 17th birthday)...it just seems like i'm about to sort of lose a bit of my youth; being mystified about what would happen in the next book and whatnot.

maybe i'm just being a bit too nostalgic. i will read it, of course, but right now...i dunno, it's just kind of odd how i'm finishing something i've been following for almost a decade.

This is the first Harry Potter frontpage post I've seen that doesn't have spoilers.
=D

snape kills dumbledore.

I agree, it is a bit hard to let go of such an old and good series.

The first book came out in 1997.

i thought that, too, but i saw that the text was copyrighted in 1997, while the illustrations were in 1998. i figured i ought to go for the later year. the fact that i was 6 in 1997, rather than 7 in 1998, only emphasizes what i said.

Hey, your from Colorado too! the harry potter has been good i wanna buy the last book but i'm afraid of the story ending and so i maybe if i dont read the last book there is no end.

if i don't go to school, then school doesn't exist.

HUZZAH FOR RELATIVITY

don't be a pussy, read the book

don't be an illiterate moron, read what i said.

"i will read it, of course"

"don't be a pussy, read the book"

Seconded.

thanks for your valuable input.

Well I had the same thing.. I picked it up in the afternoon after it's release and when I got home it took me 2 hours to decide wether I wanted to read it or wait.
I'd planned to read one chapter every day, and not more.. But I ended up reading the whole thing in 2 days and feeling quite dead after that :(

heh, yeah...i couldn't read only one chapter a day. i get too into the book and i read like a hundred pages in a few hours \:
