lame tutorial with terrible layout...

if you are making tutorials on flash, you oughta learn flash yourself. it is NOT that hard to make a "radio" that continues playing, even after going to different frames. that happened to my main irk for this. the other one is that you said there was actionscript for advanced users, yet you only covered basics of flash and basics of actionscript. if you want anything to do with advanced, make a platformer or AI script. if you really want to go all out, experiment with NETWORKING. that would get you some major points from me, assuming you explain it good enough.

Smoking-Chimney responds:

It was a tutorial for people starting out in Flash... you're obviously not starting out.

terrible

i also like south park, but this was....just HORRIBLE. the only things you drew were horribly drawn, the sound quality was horiffic, and, well, you dont have ENOUGH stuff in there! now, if you had a lot more stuff, i could understand (though i still wouldnt like it) the low quality sound, but this is just stupid.

and if you are going to respond with "how could i draw the buttons better?!?111" then ill answer it now. make them more interesting. a crappy lil triangle wont do much, maybe a shadow or 3d effect? whatever. if you are creative enough to come up with this "masterpiece", im sure you would think of something.

Roxen responds:

Dude i was tryin to keep it simple

"safe often!"

the tutorial was ok, but it was WAY too boring to finish. i got somewhat far, but you need to make it more interesting (i know, omg, random stuff is cool and all, but it doesnt make up for how boring it is to wait for the intructions to finish). the typewriter effect is nice, but you dont need to use it throughout the ENTIRE thing!

you also should spell check your stuff, because i noticed a LOT of spelling and grammatical errors, like the one in my one-lin summary.

evestraw responds:

i tried to write proper english but i am dutch but i tried but you are free to correct it

hmm

good graphics and stuff, but ive made this kind of game before and its all just keyPress and gotoAndPlay actions. hard to program? my ass. but this was good. waaaaayyyy too short though. you oughta check out my rammer - killer series (:

DoctorPongo responds:

Yeah, the system is actually quite simple. I see you've done a tutorial on the matter. Let's hope other people check it out and churn out their own interactive movie games. NG folks who liked this game, go for it!

it was sort of fun...

but being 13 is no excuse. ive been doing flash since i was like 11 or 12 or something, and my brother since he was 10, and hes a good actionscripter. the low file size was nice, but unless its 3 or 5 megs, it wouldnt matter that much if it was half of a meg. you need a background, music, sounds, and harder play. the levels got increasingly easier (due to your scoring system). good try, but not really worth protecting.

Begoner responds:

Am I your brother? Did I have Flash since I was 10? I was just saying why the game was bad, I wasn't trying to excuse the fact that it was bad.

awesome!

my only problem is that i couldnt see the damn ball half of the damn...for some reason im better as the alien. great music choices! and great game too! ive noticed that your submitting something like everyday, or am i just paranoid? meh.

Wanion responds:

Thanks! And yes, I have been submitting a lot lately because I'm a busy, busy guy... and have nothing better to do, so hey! Glad you liked it.

meh

i loved the music choices, but, no offense, everything else sucked. except that font (: and the idea. you should do a remake of this.

Pilot-Doofy responds:

I was planning on doing a V.2 of it after I got my Flash MX details book that shows me how to draw good and animate with it but no one even liked the concept for this so I chose not to.

not true

frame by frame doesnt mean u have to redraw each frame. although it can, you just also move stuff. thats how i do my movies. you also need to use onion skins and insert blank keyframes for the tutorial. it wasnt very informational. once u get to be good at flash make tutorials.

McSqueeb responds:

Well yeah I know. My SF series was 85% fbf but I was just moving stuff. That's not really proper fbf. That's basically what you start off doing and then just use motion tweens instead. What's onion skins? Sounds interesting.

i beat it!

it was really hard, thank god for that hint stuff! and to dosojin, just click on the gun...:P the game was awesome, the music was very well chosen, and the drawings...wow. the drawings in this were amazing. it was worth playing this for 2 or 3 hours to beat it! lol. this is just one of those games that is really challenging, but not so that u drop kick your comp in frusteration or too easy. just perfect. hope u make another one. congrats!

now thx to u, i didnt eat lunch...hope i dont die of starvation and turn to a ghost :P (: :D

Retshark responds:

Thanks very much for the support!! I didn't anticipate making a game that assists with dieting .. oops? ;)

its really good and all...

but im lost on the wire part. all the wires kill you, and you cant get out! that code near hte medkit is screwed up. how r u supposed to figure it out?

potbellybob responds:

yea, ill fix that thing l8er i think. You have to click in just the right spot, like click where the wire is way out in the open at the bottom and work your way up.

honk honk.
