magnificent

two things disappoint me about this:

1, it didn't quite get enough recognition. this flash is just about as good as anything Adam Philips makes, in my opinion, because of the fluid and realistic motion, and actual storylines. just about as good? i take that back; this is much better.

2, it was short. i understand that the song itself is short, and, that if you had to animate a 4 minute song, the quality wouldn't be as amazing as it is now. i'm glad that it is so amazing in this small package, but i still can't help wanting more of it.

this flash, i'd say, is majestic in how it tells the story in the flash. thanks for going through all the tediousness of animation to submit it to Newgrounds for us. this deserves to be in the Top 50, if not the top 10.

excellent (:

great job. the graphics were clean and stylish, the sounds wre crisp, and it was quite funny.

excellent job. i fourfened it.

groovy.

my old, underscore-infested name is in the credits. i feel so...thanked :P

anyway, this movie was brilliant. simple and funny. minimalistic ROXXORS, LOL.

got ne pron 4 me?

odd.

for a person whose site is "flashcartoon.org", you sure suck at animating.

it was really predictable and just really boring. better luck next time 9_9

excellent

the animation was superb, as well as the music. i'm not sure what other good things i can say about it. it was pretty much all excellent, except...

my only gripe is your ending. the clichéd "a whole army of people walk in and the protagonist does a move to prepare to murder them all" ending was really stupid. if you had actually shown him kill them all, i'd have given this a 10.

in spite of the 9, i still voted 5 on this. animation that fluid isn't easy to do, so out of the assumption that you worked really hard on this, i am giving you that 5.

eh, it wasn't bad.

let me first say that to avoid pissing you off, i will give you a decent critique.

first off, i was waiting at the loading screen for something to happen. after about a minute, i saw the play button. i'm not sure why it's so unnoticeable, but i think it has something to do with the composition. put it somewhere in the middle when it is fully loaded.

second, the animation was quite choppy. the walk cycles were sloppy at best, and during the fight scenes, the protagonist only seemed to get one person at a time while all the others just kind of hobbled around. i'm sure it can look actiony to some, but to me, it just looks really stupid. also, some of the people seemed to just get slammed down when the main guy would shoot or hit them, rather than just flopping down like a silly ragdoll.

the music was horrible. i hated it, i hated it, i hated it. 'nuff said.

i DO understand that these flashes take a while to make. i have been making flash since i was 12 (and even then, most of my flash works passed judgement with a decent score). i'm sure there's some retard out there blamming this because he knows your age and just ASSUMES it will be bad. screw them. ageism is for twats.

above all, this wasn't bad. just take your time even moreso than you probably did. make those walk cycles smoother, and make sure the protagonist is not just going after one guy at a time while all the others are just kind of walking around him.

You know I'm just getting bad reviews because of the front page you know, people are steaming with jealousy.

excellent job.

hey skaijo, remember me? i used to go in the flash forum a lot and i helped critique a beta of your movie (i think).

excellent job on the movie, but i think it would have been better off without voices or other sounds. the music could have set the atmosphere and you could still just have subtitles instead of voices \:

but other than that, i really liked the finished product. not really much more to say \:

Skaijo responds:

Don't be stupid. :P

Of course I remember you. You're not only one of my Flash buddies, but I also look up to you as an artist and programmer. It's totally cool to get a review from you, mizan.

I'll post a Music Video Edit (that will just have the animation and music) on my deviant art page sometime this week just for you.

you're improving...

the art in this is a bit better than your last ones, as is the animation. however, a certain problem has been pervasive in this series: voice acting. none of the voice actors have any emotion, and they talk stiffly, without any 'rhythm' like we normally do. if it wasn't for the shoddy voice acting, the lip sync (or lack thereof), and small amount of animation, this would be a great flash.

however, i DO realize this wasn't made to be an artistic wonder, but if you put more effort into this, people would be able to sympathize with you better because they can get into the story without being distracted by the voice acting and bad lip sync.

amazing

the story was great (if not slightly clichéd), as well as the drawings and music.

however, my two problems with this are pervasive throughout this noir: the sound and music quality, and the animation quality. if the animation was smoother, and sounds clearer, it'd be perfect and well worth the increased file size.

an orchestra of brilliance

the storyline is what kept me intrigued throughout this flash. it was obviously conceived in a state of deep thought, as evidenced by this flash. the graphics were amazingly simple, and yet, simply amazing, with their hand-drawn simplicity amazingness.

the music sucked though ):<

honk honk.
